Connect you Novation device to the computer and load Cubase In Cubase, open the 'Devices' menu and select 'Device Setup'. Click on the + symbol and select 'Novation Automap,' leave the MIDI Input / Ouput ports as 'Not Connected'. Click on 'MIDI Port Setup'.

  • Aside from Automap, there have been individuals out there who have also seen the potential of the Launchpad with Reason. The easiest, and most elegant I've seen has been Deluded Software's Relaunch, as it has a Remote-style mapping for every device in Reason, as well as a killer Combinator that makes amazing use of the Launchpad.
  • In the related Input and Output choosers, select Launchpad as well: Make sure that the MIDI ports for the Launchpad are configured correctly. Enable 'Track' and 'Remote' for the Launchpad's inputs and outputs. For the Launchpad MK2 and Pro, you will also need to enable the output Sync port.
  • Automap is a piece of software that comes with all Novation controllers. It has been designed to make the job of assigning your hardware controls to various software parameters quick and easy. Despite having knobs and sliders, most MIDI controllers are no good at controlling plug-ins.
so i tried it out,

Launchpad Automap

but i had automap on and discovered that the fireworks trick will toggle between regular live friendly mode to totally customizable automap mode, and once in automap mode you can move around with the launchpad buttons, dramatically increasing the launchpad's possibilities
then whenever you want just switch back over to regular mode,
make sure you have the automap midi drivers on in ableton
